Aunt Vadge: masturbating causes me to have back pain for a week

TL;DR

A reader experiences back pain and tightness for up to 10 days after masturbation, questioning the normality of this response. Aunt Vadge suggests this abnormal reaction might be due to back or spinal issues and recommends consulting an osteopath or chiropractor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. The importance of discussing sexual stimulation effects with a healthcare provider is emphasized to address and resolve the discomfort.

Hi Aunt Vadge,

I have one problem. I am virgin and fingers myself sometimes. After fingering my vag becomes tight and I have back pain for week to 10 days. I feel normal after entering in period.

I have also urged for pee for 2 or 3 days after fingering. I do fingering softly and do not hurt myself. I don’t use any object during fingering. I don’t know what is orgasm but yes, I feel pleasure for one or two seconds, and after that I found my back and legs tight.

I masturbate once a week or once in 10 days. I don’t go more deep while fingering.

Please advise about this problem, and tell me, is it normal?

Dear Tense,

It sounds like you have some sort of back or spinal congestion that is causing muscles to become tense and stiff after stimulation, so no, it isn’t normal – masturbating and other sexual stimulation, while exciting, is normally relaxing. In the absence of any greater back or spinal problems, it could just be a simple misalignment or something else. This response is abnormal, so should be looked into – it doesn’t sound very fun!

I would recommend first seeing an osteopath or chiropractor. Discuss this problem with them, even though it might be a bit embarrassing – it’s important, and they’ll be able to help you to figure out what’s going wrong. You can just say that ‘upon sexual stimulation, my back and legs become tight’. You don’t need to be more specific, though they may want to know if you are actually having sex with someone, or masturbating, since having sex could mean you are in an awkward position. Give them as much information as you can, and remember that they are there to help you!

They may have some good ideas about how to solve your problem. You aren’t the only person with this sort of issue.

If the problem cannot be solved by a physical therapist of some kind, please write back so we can help you more.

Warmest regards,
Aunt Vadge
