Aunt Vadge: something hard on my uterus – is it fibroids?

I am 22. When I had sex, my husband told me he could feel something hard in my uterus . When I checked, it was quite big – as big as my little finger. Is it uterine fibroids? Suggestions please!

If your husband can feel something hard on your cervix (the opening to your uterus) then you need to go and be examined, because it could be many things, including a growth of some kind.
It would be impossible for me to answer that without more information, and examining you, so make an appointment with your doctor or gynaecologist, and let them take a look. It could be that your cervix was harder than normal due to normal menstrual changes, however, so it works like this: the closer you are to your period, the harder the cervix becomes. When you are ovulating, the cervix is high and soft, and when you are menstruating, it is low and hard. This is why sometimes sex hurts more than others, as the penis can hit the cervix when it is low and hard.
